Aloo Tikki Tostada Pizza

Sadly, this is another staple item Taco Bell is getting rid of, but you can make it at home! All you really need are the TB hot sauce packets to make this recipe feel like you got it from the drive through next door. I made this tostada pizza slightly healthier by using an air-fried corn tortilla for a one-layer pizza, lots of freshly chopped veggies, and greek yogurt as a sour cream alternative. I hope you love this as much as I do!

INGREDIENTS

Serves 2

  • 4 Taco Sized Tortillas or Tostadas of Choice

  • Clarified Butter or Olive Oil for Brushing

  • 1 Boiled Russet Potato

  • 1/2 Tsp Red Chili Powder

  • 1 Tsp Chaat Masala

  • 1 Tsp Salt

  • 1 Tsp Pepper

  • 1 Tsp Lemon Juice

  • 2 Tbsp Chopped Cilantro + More for Topping

  • Taco Bell Hot Sauce Packets

  • 1/2 C Shredded Mexican Blend Cheese

  • 1 Chopped Roma Tomato

  • 1/2 Chopped Red Onion

  • 1/2 C Greek Yogurt

  • 2 Tbsp Sriracha

  • Chaat Masala, Red Chili Powder, and Lemon Juice for Topping

OTHER NOTES

  • You can add refried beans instead of the potatoes with all of the same seasonings to make this more like the vegetarian version of the Taco Bell Pizza.

  • To make this vegan, eliminate the cheese or use your favorite cheese alternative! Additionally, replace the greek yogurt with vegan mayo or yogurt.

  • You can always use sour cream instead of greek yogurt depending on your taste preferences.

  • Add in some avocado slices and top with your favorite hot sauce to make this EXTRA spicy!!!

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Brush the tortillas on both sides with oil or clarified butter. Place into the air fryer for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden-brown and crispy. Let it cool on a paper towel.

  2. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

  3. Mash the boiled potato in a bowl, and add Red Chili Powder, Chaat Masala, Salt, Pepper, Lemon Juice, and Cilantro. Mix until nicely combined.

  4. Place the tostadas on a baking sheet, and divide the potato mixture evenly amongst all of the tostadas.

  5. Add the cheese evenly on top of the potato mix. Put the tostadas in the oven for 10 minutes until the cheese is nicely melted.

  6. Top the pizzas with tomatoes, onions, and cilantro. Lightly sprinkle lemon juice, chaat masala, and red chili powder to your liking as well.

  7. Lastly, mix the yogurt with sriracha to create your ‘sour cream’ substitute. Top each pizza with the yogurt or serve on the side. ENJOY!
